# BankBridge

BankBridge is a hosted, read-only MCP server at `https://bankbridge.money/api/mcp` (streamable HTTP).
It gives an agent 12 tools over the user's real bank, credit card and brokerage
accounts. Every call is fetched live; nothing financial is stored. It cannot move
money, change settings or place trades.

## Install (what the user does, about 3 minutes)

1. Sign up at https://bankbridge.money/login (email magic link). Pricing: $5/month or $50/year per connected bank. No free plan, cancel any time.
2. Link a bank from the dashboard (standard bank-linking flow, about 30 seconds).
3. Add the MCP server to their agent. Hosts that support remote OAuth connectors
   (Claude Desktop, claude.ai, Perplexity) only need the URL
   `https://bankbridge.money/api/mcp`. Every other host takes the URL plus the header
   `Authorization: Bearer bbk_...` (key from https://bankbridge.money/dashboard/settings).

You cannot complete signup or bank linking on the user's behalf: both need the
user's email and their bank login. Send them to the right page and wait.

To try the tools before the user signs up, use the header
`Authorization: Bearer bbk_demo` (deterministic fictional data).

## Tools

- `list_accounts`: Balances and types for every connected account.
- `get_account`: Detail lookup for one account by id.
- `list_transactions`: Transactions filtered by date, amount, category or account (paginated).
- `search_transactions`: Substring search over transaction name and merchant.
- `get_spending_summary`: Spending grouped by category, merchant, month or week.
- `get_recurring_charges`: Detected subscriptions, bills and other recurring charges.
- `get_monthly_cashflow`: Income vs expenses for a month plus top sources and categories.
- `get_merchant_history`: Every charge from one merchant plus totals and cadence.
- `list_categories`: Spending categories present in the user's data.
- `list_holdings`: Current investment positions with cost basis and gain/loss.
- `list_investment_transactions`: Buys, sells, dividends, fees and transfers.
- `connect_bank`: Returns a URL the user opens once to link another bank.

## Rules when answering

- If a tool result contains a `warnings` array, tell the user every warning
  (and its reconnect_url) before answering. It means a bank is disconnected or
  could not contribute.
- Positive transaction amounts are money leaving the account; negative amounts
  are money coming in.
- Credit card payments from checking are transfers, not new spending. Do not
  double-count them.
- Prefer several months of data over one month before projecting a trend.
